The interface¶

Numerisect has five top-level views, each with its own hash route so any page can be linked or bookmarked.

The 11 groups are: primality and navigation, primality laboratories, prime generation, gaps and tuples and Goldbach, analytic distribution and counting, reciprocals and Gaussian and digits, divisors and arithmetic functions, modular and polynomial algebra, quadratic forms and number fields, digit and sequence explorations, and visualization and education.

Only one operation is visible at a time, and each has a direct hash route such as #primes/prime-check or #primes/prime-reciprocal. On narrow screens a compact selector replaces the sidebar.

Finding a tool¶

139 tools is more than anyone can scan, so the primary route is not the sidebar.

Press Ctrl+K (or ⌘+K, or just / when you are not typing in a field) to open the command palette from anywhere in the application, including the factorization and zeta views. Type, use the arrow keys, press Enter. The palette switches to Prime Tools and opens the tool for you.

Search the mathematics, not the label. A label chosen by this project is rarely the word you arrive with. Every tool carries a hidden index of the concepts, notation, and mathematicians it relates to, and search matches that alongside the visible text:

Terms are ranked rather than merely filtered: a match in a tool's name outranks one in its description, which outranks one reached only through the concept index. A multi-word query is treated as a phrase first, so cyclic number finds the tool about cyclic numbers rather than everything mentioning both words.

Every tool also has a direct hash route, such as:

Reading a result panel¶

Results appear immediately below the form that produced them, never elsewhere. Each panel carries:

The values, with their strength labelled.
A note stating what was computed, by which engine, and what the result does and does not establish.
The exact output/<filename> where the report was saved.
A download link.

Where a search stopped at a bound, the panel says so and gives the continuation point.

The status line¶

The top of the interface shows which engine executables are available. If any are missing, an installation banner offers to build them from pinned commits after explicit confirmation.

Long-running work¶

Factorizations run as jobs. You get live engine logs, phase and progress reporting, cancellation, pause and resume, priority and queue reordering, and per-job CPU, memory and wall-clock limits. CADO-NFS jobs resume from parameter snapshots.

Only one CPU-heavy job runs at a time unless you raise NUMERISECT_MAX_PARALLEL_JOBS.

After updating¶

Restart the server and reload the page. The application shell and its assets are served with no-store, but a document already open in a tab is not replaced by restarting the server behind it. A tab left open across the restart also holds the previous process's session token and may produce transient 403 entries while polling /api/jobs or /api/setup. Close obsolete tabs or reload the active one to establish a new session.
